Yah I always thought Faintheartedness was a HUGE duration for the immense effects it had...
Yay for STARTING (not finished, I HOPE) toning down the hex meta!!!
The buff to Hex eater signet actually makes it PLAYABLE. Gee wiz.
Convert Hexes is more playable, but it demands energy so we're more likely to see it on a ele/mes/necro than a monk.

While Water Magics aren't as popular and welcome in Elementalist Field.
Anet still went on and nerf Blurred Vision and Frozen Burst?
Frozen Burst was never too powerful, for Water Eles don't always "run" in the front line, risk themselve and dealing dmgs + snare. It was 116dmg, and Anet nerf the dmg, now they even nerf the Snare duration? that's just stupid! Along with Blurred Vision.... I still got A LOT of melee hits on Blurred Vision hexed foes.... so the increasing casting time is redundant.
Anet u feeling okay to discourage more ppl using Water Field? Wake up PLEASE!

PvP, ring a bell? Blurred Vision is ridiculously overpowered, always has been. Frozen Burst has been nicknamed 'Broken' Burst for a good reason, its snare lasted for a stupidly long duration.
I have hated Faintheartedness since the day i left Pre-searing and encountered Charr Ash Walkers. I will still hate it now, it just doesn't last quite as long.

You have no idea. When that Water ele gets threatened (someone tries to train him or spike him), the best they can do is either snare or use Blurred Vision. Now, Blurred Vision was imba by virtue of its ridiculous duration versus recharge and its cast time was nerfed so that it's easier to interrupt. Frozen Burst is imba by virtue of permanent snare capability through the one skill, in addition to the damage. You'd think a buff to 1/6th its recharge would have nerfed something else, and this is its something else.

I like the way Kale Ironfist put it.

So at maybe the equivelent of 10 damage a second, increased slightly when Unguent goes down... you weren't able to kill the ele in that time? :S You had no evasive stances at all? Even if its just Natural Stride.
The real question is why weren't you able to kill him...

I don't particularly like the change to Frozen Burst. It already had a time based malus:
Being an untargeted PBAoE spell, Frozen Burst has double the normal aftercast. (quoted from wiki)
This change makes it less useable as a snare skill for me.

By the time GW:EN comes out, Searing Flames will be identical to Rodgort's Invocation, but an elite.

They had a monk healing them. Not very easy to kill. Cripshots aren't known for their killing power.

At this rate, it'll be better to stick to SS Necros or Warriors with Whirlwind Attack, Cyclone Axe, and Triple Chop for AoE damage.

The question now is why were you daft enough to continue to get attacked by the ele when you had no chance of actually overpowering them? Mark of Rodgort is just good for its degen in the same way the Burning Arrow ganker is.
But this has nothing to do with the update... so why are we even talking about it.

Feinthearteness nerf was magic to hear. I play mesmer, even the conjures needed nerfing, considering their recharge time is 5, they can be easily re-applied.
Searing Flames nerf? Thats gold (yay for NRL)!
Savannah Heat was more effective in the first place, maybe people will realise that.\
I play hydromancer alot, blurred vision and frozen burst where in need to a nerf, so im glad for it. there are plenty better snares out there than Frozen Burst (i.e. Freezing Gust).
Two thumbs up to A-net on this update .
Eva.

I'd like to see anybody try and continually strafe 'a group of wanders' and NOT get hit. Looks like Curse You didn't have a speed boost/block stance either (or at they very least tried to stall the group rather than run).

I've found Searing Flames to be more consistant, as the opposing mobs can't run out of its AoE. If they're not getting hit by it, they're currently not a problem to be dealt with by my Elementalist. Also, the damage drop is ~2-4 DPS, not much to have any real effect in PvE.

Nooooooooo my overpowered pve warrior build!!! I'd be bothered... if it wasn't my least favourite class.
Nerfs to SF is good. SF is so boring to play. I think they should unnerf the pve ele skills a bit and then nerf SF more.
Convert hexes buff... well I'm just glad I'm done with those evil kournan priests who already seemed to spam this in hardmode.
Okay now that they've worked on fixing pvp a bit more, maybe they'll buff the ranger pve skills?

Minion Master + Savannah Heat is good. Minion Master + Savannah Heat + Searing Flames is better. You get the best of both worlds... massive AoE damage and lots of DoTAoEs to make things attempt to escape a wall of minions.
I trust a hero to use SF, not SH.

And that's the main kicker for why I still use SF. I almost never see anyone making groups for HM, and sometimes guildies/alliance mates are busy with other things. Not to mention it works with They're On Fire! for added damage reduction.

A good approach on this update; first time I read the changes and I can understand why it has been done. Particularly glad with frozen burst and faintheartdeness.
